*MOST* modern computers have bash, use it if you can
With bash use $( ... ) instead of ` ... ` stylistically better and can be nested.
Don&#039;t parse the output of ls. Use globbing and correct quoting instead to avoid the issue with the spaces. The best bash faq/wiki/tutorials are at:
